We are back from Lake Powell and enduring the 100+ degree weather here in Tarzana. It's too hot to go outside without melting so we are trying to stay cool with lots of popsicles. We had a great time on our Lake Powell trip as always. It's hard with little kids due to lack of sleep but it's so fun we just can't stay away. This year Ethan went on the tube with me and he thought it was ok. He seemed to be impartial, he didn't love or hate it. The same went for the seadoos but he loved driving the boat the most. I took him down the houseboat slide this year and he liked it the first few times but then started to get too much water up his nose. He spent lots of time in the sand and swimming in the shallow water. Tanner was an excellent baby and stayed inside most of the time but enjoyed a few boat rides as well. My favorite thing about Lake Powell is the beautiful scenery, a nice ride on the seadoos, boogie boarding and just going along for a leisurely boat ride.

We got back from Lake Powell late Sunday night so Jared met up with us at my parents' house since he had Monday off. It was so nice being back and spending the day with him. We went in the spa a few times and all got good afternoon naps. Jared was on call all day Saturday, through the night into Sunday and got off late evening. What a long 24 hours! Monday night Jared had to go back home for work on Tuesday morning but I stayed to take Tanner to the doctor the next day. That night I had a surprise envelope from Jared which turned out to be a one hour massage the next day. It was heavenly! It was such a pleasant surprise and so thoughtful of him. I love massages and would love to make it a regular thing someday.
At Tanner's check-up he weighed 12lbs 3 oz and is doing well. Tanner will be three months old on the 20th and loves to "coo" and smile at you. He is a happy little boy and we love him.
Ethan says the cutest things sometimes. While driving back to Tarzana from Orange County Ethan said, "Look Mommy, it's an airplane! It's going to John County Airport."
While in Tustin Mary-Anne and the kids came to my parents' house to swim in the spa, have a picnic lunch and play with us. It was so fun being together again. Ethan loves spending time with Blake and Madison. Then today Leslie came out to Tarzana to meet Tanner and see our house. It was fun having her here and Reagan and Ethan played well together. Unfortunately she left our house to go back around 2:30 and it took her 3.5 hours to get home. I felt bad for her but loved having her visit. Hopefully she'll be willing to come back again some day!
