The week in review

The week started off with Ethan turning 20 months old. Before having Ethan I never understood why parents would tell people their child was 14 months old instead of saying he was 1 year old. After having a child of my own I now understand. A child who is 14 months old and a child who is 23 months old are both 1 year old, but there is a big difference developmentally. They grow so fast in the first two years that people tend to specify. Kind of interesting.
We had a BBQ with our friends last night with lots of good food. We really enjoy having such good friends so close to us that we play with almost everyday. Ethan is still eating well and playing so much better. He is more content playing in our house with his toys. His new thing is to throw. It started out with us teaching him to throw a ball, but now he has progressed into throwing everything. He has a pretty good arm too; his daddy is proud. He also loves to spit on people but luckily it is more of him making the noise then anything else. Ethan is in love with little babies and is very loving towards them. He is growing up fast with his second birthday approaching.
This morning Jack and Evan came to play with us for a little bit while Laurie went to the doctor. It was fun for Ethan to have a playmate and everyone seemed to have a good time. Evan was asleep for most of the time, while Jack and Ethan played cars and trains. Laurie was very thoughtful and brought me a Sprinkles cupcake: red velvet. It was my first experience and it was really good. They are really overpriced cupcakes that are a big hit in Orange County, so it was fun to taste one. Thanks Laurie! After Ethan's nap we are going to Disneyland to meet up with both of our families - should be a fun evening.
