Happy 2008! For New Year's Eve this year we babysat for Melissa Brooks at her house and spent the night so they could stay out late and party. Most years we play games with our families but this year we figured we might as well babysit since we won't be staying up. We knew if we stayed up Ethan would be waking to eat right when we would be going to bed. We wouldn't have gotten much sleep so we decided to go to bed pretty early. This was the first year in several years that we have not stayed up for the clock to strike 12am. On New Year's Eve Ethan was just coming down with a cold and was having a hard time breathing. I always feel so bad for babies when they are sick. They are so helpless. Even when Ethan has a cold he is a really good baby so that is a blessing.
Happy Birthday Kay and Barbara! The whole world celebrated their birthdays with them on New Years day. For Kay's birthday this year we brought in chinese food and played games. It was enjoyable to eat around the couch and relax.
As I look back on 2007 we had a good year. Jared finished up his 2nd year of Medical School and started his third. He started his rotations at the hospital and really enjoys applying what he has learned in his first two years. At the beginning of the year we found out we were going to be having a baby. I continued to work at RBG until Ethan was born, and then I went back but only for 2 1/2 days per week. We have enjoyed being parents and are excited to see the changes in Ethan this year.
