Happy 1st Birthday to Evan! Evan is such a cute, happy-natured baby.
This evening we went down to Newport Beach to celebrate Evan's birthday. The little boys enjoyed throwing water balloons at each other, playing with their trucks in the sand and eating good food. It was a nice day at the beach with family.
This morning was an eventful day around Verano Place. Ethan and I went down the street to see how Gabe and Laura were doing packing before heading to the park to say good-bye to the Carters. Gabe's mom came to help out with the Dilanji's kids and she decided to come to the park with us, but on the way up she slipped and broke her ankle in three places. An ambulance and firetruck came to asses her leg and take her to the hospital. I felt so bad for her but she was a trooper. The kids didn't know what was going on but were of course in heaven watching all the trucks and firemen.
Then, as we were walking home from the park, Blake was playing on a high cement slab with some other neighbor boys when he was pushed off. He fell straight back and hit his head extremely hard. The sound was so loud and Mary-anne was of couse terrified as she watched him fall but couldn't get there in time. At first he seemed ok but later he was still in pain so they took him to the ER. Luckily, the CT scan came back normal and Blake is doing well. Madison got to play with Ethan for a little bit while they were gone and they had a blast! I can see why they say two kids can be easier than one - they have a constant playmate. They took a tub together and ran up and down the hall screaming and then played hide and seek with me. What a day! We are grateful in the end everyone turned out to be ok.
