Our Week

This week Ethan continued to play by himself, which is still so foreign to us. For the last 21 months I have been his "toy" that plays with him every waking moment, so to have him push a car back and forth on the couch for an extended period of time is such a treat. On Monday he played on our stairs for half an hour with his trains, and then moved to the balcony to play with his cars. He loves pushing them on the floor as he is laying next to them while making all kinds of sounds. I love watching him as he engages in imaginary play.
On Monday we went to Disneyland for the last time until the Fall. We went with my family and watched the new summer show and fireworks. Mom came with us for the first time since she got her pass. She hasn't gone due to the pain in her neck but we took it easy and she did well.
On Wednesday we got to hang out with Joy for a little bit and went to Target. I have been looking for a trash truck for Ethan for months now, and finally found one that was small and inexpensive. It was a matchbox trash truck that is very realistic. I still hope to get him a larger trash truck someday but this is great for now.
On Thursday we played at the Brooks' house. We were going to go to Irvine Park but ended up having the boys play in the backyard with water toys. Jack and Ethan went down the slide into the waiting pool over and over. They really had a good time together and got all their energy out. After the pool party they had a little picnic under the tree together. It was a fun day!
