Sharing Time

Tomorrow we are teaching Sharing Time in primary. Over the last week or so we have been thinking about what we should do but have only decided and really gotten it put together today. The theme is "the promises taught in the scriptures give me comfort and courage". This is our second time teaching sharing time and the first time went ok, but not as well as we would have liked it. We spent a lot of time on it but with little kids you never know what to expect. We would ask them a question and they would always give us the opposite answer we were looking for. I really think the kids will enjoy this sharing time and it will go well. Last time we learned what to do and what not to. We are going to have the kids go on a treasurehunt to find stories of courage that are found in the scriptures. We have 6 treasure boxes and in 5 of them we have little pieces of paper that have a prophet's name on it. We are then going to use a flannel board to tell them the stories of Noah, Daniel, Abraham, David and Goliath, and Samuel the Lamanite. We are hoping they will get into the stories because there are different scenes and the pictures are neat. After each story they will find another treasure chest around the room and we will tell the next one. Our sixth treasure chest is a lot larger and has Reeces Pieces in it. We will conclude by telling the kids that these stories of courage show us that we can have faith in Heavenly Father, and that if we do what’s right we will be blessed with great treasures. The greatest treasure is to return to heaven and live with our Heavenly Father. After that we will turn the time over for singing and at that point we will be relieved. We hope all goes well. On a different note, I worked today and that was nice to get caught up on things. Barbara has been sick the last three days so I have been by myself up front. It was crazy at times but it was ok. After that Mom and I went to a little shop and bought Suzie Marquis a thank you gift for helping with the division. We got a set of these pumpkins. Mom got a set too, which will go well with the fall decoration.
