Fun weekend

This weekend Jared and I went out for a night on the town both Friday and Saturday night. Thank you to both of our parents for watching Ethan. This weekend was Jared's MBA "get-to-know-you" orientation. Students from all over flew in to check out UCI and decide if they wanted to go to UCI business school. Luckily for us it's not a decision - just a fun weekend. The business school had activites all day Friday and Saturday but we only went on the boat cruise Saturday night. On Friday night they had a dinner at a really nice Italian restaurant but at the last minute we decided to bail out and go to dinner at Souplantation and a movie. The medical students that Jared had talked to said they were not going to go so we decided to just have a relaxing night not having to dress up and talk to a lot of people we didn't know. Dinner was good and we both enjoyed the movie. We went to the dollar theater and saw "Vantage Point". On Saturday they had a BBQ that we were going to take Ethan to but he was so fussy and tired that we had to put him down for a nap instead. He wouldn't have been a happy boy and he got a much needed 2 hour nap. I was really looking forward to it, well really just the food, but there will be plenty more opportunities. In the evening we went on the harbor dinner cruise around Balboa. There are 16 med students doing the MD/MBA program this year (normally the max is about five). So this year was really large which should be nice for Jared since he already has a lot of classmates he knows. After this year, he'll just continue medical school with the next year's class. All the med students hung out at all the events, which the people in charge tried to discourage but we did it anyways. We had a nice dinner and enjoyed the fresh air on the boat. We had a fun eventful weekend. The picture above was taken by Jared at the end of the cruise - very beautiful. The picture below is us with our friends Chris and Suzie Trimble. Chris is in Jared's class and they both will be doing the MD/MBA, and they are in our ward as well. As you can see Jared is a little sunburned from playing tennis in the morning with his mom. He was pretty sore afterward but had a lot of fun.
